Rubber Crank Dust Cap ?

Rubber Crank Dust Cap ?
Does such a thing exist or do I need to make them?
I am using early-80's Sugino GT cranks that are straight and in fact the mounting end of the crank where the dust cap goes sticks out a bit further than where the pedal mounts. Because of this I am bashing my ankles quite good when mounting or doing other odd maneuvers on the bike - for normal cadence pedaling I don't hit them. I noticed that modern cranks sweep out quite a bit more than these old ones and don't have a bulb where the mount to the bottom bracket (i.e. I never bash my ankles on my other bike)

No worries. In the interim 14 years I've worn down my medial malleolus flush so it no longer hits the crank.

Bruised ankles
Wow. That sticks out a bunch. I've never seen that. How about taking a file or grinder to them. Be sure to put a bolt on them first! I'm assuming the spindle has threaded ends of course. Maybe some gray caulk?

This style (many brand/sources) bolt does both holding the crank arm on securely, and serving as a dust cap ..
