axle stuck in bearings
I have a Zipp FP60 wheelset and I took the rear hub apart to replace the bearings and the axle is stuck in the bearings. I put a block of wood on it and whacked it pretty hard with a rubber mallet and nothing. Any suggestions? I cannot believe how tight it is.

The right way is to use an arbor press to press the axle out of the bearings. A full-service auto parts store or a machine shop should be able to do it properly. You/they should only apply force to the inner bearing race to avoid bearing damage so proper fixturing is essential when pressing the new ones on. Pounding is strongly discouraged!

Soon to be seen on eBay: Zipp FP60 wheelset, slightly used...
