1992 Trek 930 Single Track Overhaul
I'm getting ready to overhaul this bike that I've had in my garage for about 12 or 13 years. Prior to that, it had very light use by a student on a college campus who kept it indoors. The bike is completely original and in pristine condition. Since it fits me perfectly and I like riding it, I've decided to go over it and clean/grease everything before putting it into service. I've done this many times in the past, my last one being my 1989 Bridgestone Comp MB-2 that I have since sold.
Just looking things over and referring to the specifications, I find that the bottom bracket, headset and hubs are all sealed bearings. All work smoothly with no play. Do you see any reason to go into them? This really could make the 'overhaul' simply a clean-up job, with the worst parts being the chain and freewheel. I have absolutely no experience with sealed bearings, but I seem to remember from somewhere that they are not serviceable. So, I guess you leave them alone until they go bad?

I doubt a 1992 model has "real" sealed bearings, at least in the hubs.
A 1993 TREK 930 has Shimano EXAGE hubs which are definitely loose ball.
Sometimes the term "sealed" is used because it has a rubber "wiper" ring around the rotating bits to "try" to keep dirt/water out.
I'm about 97% sure all your bearings mentioned are loose ball, although they may have retainers.
I'd regrease any bearings that have sat that many years. The grease has probably gotten stiff/dry.
How about a pic of the BB from the NDS. IF it has a lock ring, it's loose ball.

The BB does not have the lock ring which is what got my attention in the first place. Only one thing to do on the hubs and head; find out.
Definitely a cassette BB - has the splined retainer on each side. I'll leave that alone. I've researched the 'sealed headset' which is no big deal. The hubs can probably be cleaned and greased. The freewheel I think is a cassette Shimano HG-50.
