Brake pads and rear shock
just bought a new to me cannondale super v. The bike rides beautiful with the exception of the very loud squealing brakes.
Right now I'm enjoying just cruising around on the bike, but I know it's capable of riding off road, not sure if I'm up to that until I feel a little more comfortable.
The bike is in excellent shape and fro what I'm told it's probably from the mid 90's.
A couple of questions I have, can anyone recommend what type of brake pads would be best?
Also, if it comes down to it. Is there a replacement rear aftermarket shock available for these bikes? Appriciate any feedback

Rim brakes? The only pads I ever buy these days are mountain pads from Kool Stop. Lately I've been going for the black and salmon combination pads.
Easy install because of that little lip that Kool Stop builds in, and I just about never have any trouble at all with squealing.

Yes, they are rim brakes, sorry forgot to mention that.
Thanks for your response , I'll check eBay, or do you guys have a better place to buy?

Better bike shops sell Kool Stop. They are my favorite pads, too. Remember to clean your rims thoroughly before installing the new pads.

+1 on the Kool Stops. the black pads are for dry, the salmon pads are for wet, and the half black/half salmon are for the best of both worlds...
and make sure you hit the rim heavy with rubbing alcohol and also hit the new brake pads with rubbing alcohol too before you install them...
