"Free Front" ????
Hi All,
I'm thinking about incorporating a "free front" BB into the design of the bent I'm building. (for a future add on)
I understand that Shimano had one in the 80's, .... a "FFS" as part of their Positron system. Is anything like this currently available. Has anybody made one from a crank axle and a freewheel or freehub? (I think it could be possible) ???
Thanks, Tom

Older dept store bikes had them (Sears, JCPen, etc).
We have a few laying around at the co-op.
Some of them look like a bmx free-cog that has been machined to fit in an American bb and drilled to add attachement bolt holes.
They are threaded onto the one piece crank via an adapter.
Yes it is very possible.
Enjoy

Were any of them made for 3 piece and/or a Euro BB?

All the ones I have seen on tandems and dept store bikes had American BBs.
We're talkin 15 - 20 bikes (pretty good sample size)
