Shimano 11 Speeds VS Scott Addict
Hello,
I'm having a bit of a dilemma with my new SCOTT ADDICT 30. It's equipped with a 105 5800 groupset with the new long arm front derailleur.
I have read all about this new derailleurs and their hard to achieve tunning and tried a couple methods.
But no matter what i do i cannot make the derailleur move from the low to the l-trim position with only the lever "click". I always have to push a bit more and 9/10 times i end up the large chainring.
My LBS says its a common problem with these new derailleurs, but he as more experience with SCOTT bikes. What i want to understand is if there is some incompatibility with the ADDICT cable routing and this type of derailleur, or other bikes suffer from the same problem.
Tanks for the help

New = get the LBS to fix. Don't understand what you mean when you say he has more experience with Scott bikes, as almost every bike has a FD, and Scott is just one brand out of many.
For the FD, this is the best design Shimano have come up with (currently used from Tiagra 4700 up), far better than the previous design which was much harder to shift with .

What i am trying to do is to get some information about similar problems. When shimano desings they cannot test it in all frames on the market. Every frame as is one geometry and cable routing.
With the addict no matter what i do the cable comes almost parallel with the derailor with very little leaverage because of the cable routing Scott as implemented.
I want to understand if other addict owners or other have same problem to ser if its a design issue or any mechanical or ajustmen issue...
