Cheapest , most durable , and fastest non brand name road bike frame

ok please reply with your opinion on the absolute best in non name brand frame fork and wheel set SELLERS

basically looking for the the fastest most durable and cheapest sellers of frames with or without forks and wheels ,

not really trying to discuss parts but if its a complete bike that helps , but im trying to just stick to a frame fork and maybe wheel set convo

please tear into this one with your most opinionated factual statements about which seller / maker has the best frames that are non name brand , but if they have some good name brands you can post those two

so enjoy

You can pick two, but not three of your traits.

Fast and durable is not cheap.
Cheap and fast is not durable.
Durable and cheap is not fast.

Turns out that the brand names know what they're doing in terms of making bikes.

With that said, I've had luck with Kinesis frames. (Motobecane USA is a brand that uses them.)

A few observations:
1. No such thing as a fast frame, only fast rider.
2. Cheap and most durable is easy - many available on the curb or from bike co-ops.
3. As far as balancing competing needs keep in mind the adage - cheap, light, strong - pick 2.
4. Opinionated factual statements? You need to think about that request a bit.
5. What the heck is a non-brand name? Don't we need a list of what you consider "brand names" so we can choose something else?

For that matter have you concluded that brand names are a ripoff and by definition the others are guaranteed good?

In any case a few random opinions based on insufficient information will do you no good. I would suggest an alternate route. First suggestion is to just buy a complete bike, as your question indicates little knowledge about building from scratch or even knowing your own needs. If you insist on a scratch build decide 1st on your complete budget, including tools, shop labor, components and accessories. Add up everything you want to hang on the frame and subtract that amount from your total budget. Take that money and see what it can buy, checking reviews of each frame.

What do you consider "cheap" and what do you consider "brand name"? I think there are a few places like Nashbar and Performance bike sell nameless frames, Nashbar has a steel road frame for $100 and Performance has aluminum for $130. I'd expect there is more like those 2 but those are the 2 that came to mind.

.
...I am very fast, tight with a buck, and nobody knows my name. Sadly, I do not come with a wheel set, and by the time you paid for a custom build, you'd be upside down on the project.

Tough to be Nashbar on the cheap tip. $99.99 frame, might have to wait a couple of weeks for another 20% off code to hit, then yer at $80.

Planet X has a nice road fork for about $70, but shipping is steep. that might be too name-brandy, though.

One bright day in the middle of the night
Two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other.
Two deaf cops heard the noise,
Came and killed the two dead boys.
Now if you don't believe this lie is true,
Just ask the blind man -- he saw it too.

I built up that Performance frame for my son's race bike. If you pair it with a nice CF fork and a decent group, you can have a pretty nice bike for not much money.

This should be in the road forum. It would have 4 pages of name calling and arguing by now.

The cheapest bikes are those that someone else has already taken the depreciation hit on.

And, perhaps hung it up in the garage for a few years without using it.
