Safe glue for carbon
 

I need advice on a safe glue that can be used on a carbon frame. The location is where my duotrap speed/cadence sensor screws into the frame. There is a small bushing that is threaded through the center to secure the duotrap to the frame. This small bushing has come out and needs to be re-glued into the frame. My LBS says they have never used any glue or paste on a carbon frame. I have emailed Trek support, haven't heard back from them. Looking for any experience/advice that might be out there. Thanks.

Its a C fiber cloth in Epoxy. so why not use More Epoxy? I dont own a CF bike , never will .

I worked on Boats . Fiber glass Is a different fabric, the resin is a Polyester rather than an Epoxy

I'd use either a 2-part epoxy or a cyanoacrylate "superglue." If the fit is still fairly tight, superglue; if there was a significant void which also needed to be filled, epoxy. Respect the set time for anything you use...

Some power meters include a epoxy paste to attach their crank mag to frames. We've done this more then a few times with no issues with the frame after a few years of use. Carbon repair work almost always includes epoxy use. I've reattached water bottle bosses with epoxy on carbon frames, again with no problems other then the possibility of voiding warranties. Andy.

Any particular brand of epoxy paste that you would recommend? Where could be purchased? Thanks!!
