Specialized Air Tool help
I need a new O-ring for my specialized air tool comp and cant seem to find one anywhere. I was wondering if anyone on here knew the size these pumps take? I think it is a 2009 or 2010 model. Also, what kind of lube do you use in the barrel?

invasionusa, Take the old O ring to an auto parts store, generally there is an assortment available. I use standard wheel bearing grease in my old pump.

This? Specialized Bicycle Components Yes, you can get 100 O-rings for the same price but this also includes a new plunger for the future and you no longer have to spend time looking for the correct part.

If your o-ring is only squared and not torn, wrap some plumber's Teflon tape into the o-ring groove (under the o-ring, important:D.) This will close the gap--it doesn't take much tape--and the pump will work again. Grease with silicone spray or bike grease. Both work. Silicone spray is cleaner.
My airtool&o-ring is from '99 and still going to 100#, although the top part of the cylinder has become a bit leaky. |
And if no tape handy, a strip of thin denim into the groove would work I imagine.

Id rather not pay the $15 for S&H that they want to charge. Seems crazy to me. |
Thank you all for your input.

Any auto parts or hardware store will have them; as bradtx said just take to old one in for them to match up...
