Seatpost height question

Hello.

I recently bought a Cube LTD pro 29 size 21.

In order to get a good fit i need to raise the saddle 2.4 cm away from the limit.

I have around 13 - 13.5 cm tube inside the frame.

I am kinda worried that it will break when i ride the bike, or is that me just worrying about nothing?

My weight is around 165 lbs.

Here is some photo of the seat tube:

You're fine. You should have post below the top tube junction, and you're still above the minimum insertion mark.

You can buy a longer seatpost. That looks like a pretty basic aluminum seatpost. Just find one that is the same diameter.

But, as long as you're in deeper than the minimum, then I wouldn't worry about it.

What the others have said about the min-insertion mark is correct. Mae sure that the mark is inside the seat tube where you cannot see it.

The other thing is to avoid having your weight on the seat when riding rough ground. Take your weight on your legs when you hit bumps. Chances are you'll bend your seat rails before damaging the post though.

Still got 6" inside?

Yes, you are worrying about nothing.

Go ride your bike...

That's what she said...

Whatever the min insertion mark is on the seatpost, lawyers make sure it is conservative. 165 is plenty light, you got nothing to worry about.

I've never been against tattoos, but I've never had an idea what would be a good one. Now I know: a minimum-insertion mark on my whang.
