I like to ask would a Race Face brand chain ring fit onto a shimano crankset

The answer depends on whether the Race face has the same bolt pattern (number and circle) as the Shimano. We can't see, measure or otherwise compare the two from long distance. Andy.

RaceFace is very good about publishing compatibility charts regarding the use of their chainrings with other brands of cranks. Just because the bolt circle diameter (BCD) is the same does not mean it will work well, or work at all in some cases, RaceFace stresses this in their publications. Modern cranks and rings have all sorts of characteristics that can cause problems when mixing/matching brands and models. Do some googling and you should be able to find one of the RaceFace charts for the specific items you are looking at.

I have used a lot of RaceFace rings on different brand cranks. Every time I ordered the tooth count I wanted with the right diameter bolt circle and bolt count to match the crankset it was smiles all around followed by good shifting and long crank life.

PS: If you later are looking for low tooth count such as to make a lower granny gear than the OEM crankset maker believes you should have, be sure to compare the inside diameter of the RF ring set with the outside diameter of your bottom bracket. 24T RF ring seems the minimum that will fit on an FSA Mega crankset and still clear the bottom bracket shell of an alloy frame enough to not scrape the paint (1/16" seems to be enough clearance). Each brand will differ a bit. Makes for a really nice loaded touring nay mountain climber,
