Tubeless ready clincher road wheels no need for rim tapes?

Hi,

I recently got a pair of tubeless ready clincher road wheels. It's the D/A WH9000 C24 CL. There're no spoke holes inside of the rims. No rim tapes came with the package. So I wonder it means I don't need rim tapes if I use clincher tires with inner tubes. Since there're no holes inside of the rim, the inner tubes won't be cut open by the sharp edges around the holes.

Just want to confirm that. I'm so used to rim tapes. Just feel uneasy when I think about there're no rim tapes on my wheels! I might need to get used to that, LOL.

Thanks guys.

No need for rim tape just make sure there isn't any burrs around the valve hole.

Oh, as a good practice I use a round needle file to file down the sharp edges on the valve holes. Just to give it a round bevel instead of a straight edge. I had bad experience with the valve hole cut open the base of the valve stem before. Good tip, thanks.
