Free Hub Size and Spacer

Hi--
I just purchased a set of used 2012 Mavic Ksyrium SLs and cannot determine if the free hub is sized for 10 speed or 11 speed. How would one determine if a spacer is needed or not? I am running a 10-speed Ultegra groupset.

Thanks!

Well rollingcycle one could answer part of your question by simply trying the 10 speed cassette from your Ultegra group onto the Mavic wheel and see if it fits. But I bet you already thought of that, didn't you. Andy.

You could try Google - very first hit:
I don’t know if Mavic had a crystal ball years ago, but Mavic 9/10-speed wheels are 11-speed compatible. That’s because its Shimano/SRAM-compatible freehub bodies have for many years been wider that those of other hub manufacturers, and in order to put a 9/10-speed cassette on one, you were required to put a (supplied) spacer behind the cogs. This was amazing foresight or plain old dumb luck.
