Replace pedal plate

http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...0&d=1454036322

I want to replace the plate that's on the pedal.
Is it possible to replacethe plate with metal plates instead of rubber plates?
and where can I order the plates from?

thank you for your help

There is no metal plate that matches the existing plate. If your pedal is the PD-R540 the part number is Y45F06000.

Those look like the old 6610 Ultegra pedals, and they look seriously worn...the aluminum body is worn to where a new rubber plate might not fit well.

The replacement for the 6610 is actually the same the Shimano 540: Y-45F 06000

Thank you for your help.
I think it was pd-r540, and do i use a heat gun to replace the plates?

The wear plate is just plastic, no heat gun. On the bottom side there are two dowels in the corners that fit into the body. When you get the replacements you'll be able to see how it fits into the body. Just carefully use a small screwdriver or pick and lift it out.

They're definitely Ultegra now that I look at the picture. The 540's have painted bodies, 6610 Ultegra is anodized. The 540's use black oxide chromo spindle, 6610 is silver.
