No one has mentioned the chain wrap capacity of the rear derailleur. Currently it needs 22+25 = 47T. I suspect that the stock RD "officialy" has a 45T capacity that is already being exceeded.
Changing just the small chainring to a 22 would add another 4. 51T sounds like a lot of capacity, doesn't it? |

The RD wrap question was only relevant to the "just replace the small ring" option several people were recommending (the rear derailleur has to be able to take up the difference between small-small and large-large; if you only change the small chainring this difference increases).

I would just leave the gearing as it is. A difference of two and a half inches on that small of gears is absolutely imperceptible.
