Difference between Tektro RL520 and RL520A
Tektro appears to make to different models of drop bar brake levers for linear pull brakes (V-brake).
BTW, color is not the difference, both models come with black or silver levers.

I haven't seen the RL520A model. When Tektro sold the R200 and R200A, the R200A was the one with shorter reach.

TRP (Tektro) gave me the following answer via Facebook:
"there is no difference between RL520 and RL520A. The factory used to make R200 (shorter reach) and R200A (longer reach) levers. When the factory first introduced the RL520 in 2009, they were designated R520A, but a shorter reach version was never produced. The next year, the factory dropped the "A" and has used just RL520 since."
Short answer: There is no difference between the RL520 and the RL520A.

Interesting. It appears to be a misconception in labeling based on the R200 and R200a
For comparison in naming conventions, Tektro's current aero brake lever for caliper brakes, the R340, has the shorter-reach ("womens" version) labeled the R341, instead of using an "a" at the end.
