Bent axle

Got the bad news, I guess my rear axle was bent, now I'm shopping for a new axle, there are so many different ones that don't look like what I need. Can anyone help my it's a road bike with shimano hubs what size and where can I get them

Shimano free wheel hub? rear axles for Shimano hubs are 10mm diameter & 1 thread per MM pitch..

length? same as the one you bent.

Ok so I need to measure length theres no standard length? Also it needs to be hollow for skewer

OK, so you need a 10x1 hollow axle which is probably the most common replacement axle. The length is 10-11mm longer than the nominal width, locknut to locknut.

So, for instance, if you have an old 6s hub with a 130mm axle, that means you need a 141mm axle. (so it sticks out 5mm or so on each side).

The best thing to do is take the bent axle out of the hub and then take that axle and parts to a bicycle shop. They'll then match the replacement axle to the one you have in both length and threading. BTW, it wouldn't hurt to buy and install new ball bearings at the same time. Another advantage to the shop seeing the axle is thatt hey'll know where you need a freewheel or freehub one if your cones are pitted or otherwise worn.
