Help to find a second wheel for my bike with a 11speed and Disc mount or a solution.
Hello
I got a kinetic trainer for my 2015 cannondale synapse disc and I like to get a second wheel for it so I don't have to change tires for outside just change a wheel I have been looking everywhere and I can't find a reasonable price hub or any wheel set what would fit also it's a 11 speed I don't even care if it don't have a disc mount I don't need that inside but it needs to be 135mm and 11 speed any suggestions would be appreciated .
Hub prices are crazy some are like $200-400 . But I just need it for the trainer.
Thanks
John

Maybe everyone thought you could Google 11 speed wheel as well as them?

Cheap is the problem. 135mm and 11 speed ROAD hubs just aren't that common yet so they haven't trickled down to cheapo wheels yet. I looked for awhile for a nice used extra set before I gave up and bought some fulcrums off wiggle. One tip if you don't already know about it is Mavic started making their freehub bodies wider than standard for whatever reason a long time ago including their MTB ones. If you can find somebody selling a cheap 29er rear mavic wheel with a mavic hub in 135mm you should be good.
Some of the big online bike parts sellers are starting to include a cyclocross option in their wheel sections. Those are much more likely to be 135mm and 11 speed road compatible.

The MTB wheel linked to above won't work, as MTB and Road 11 speed freehubs are different lengths (the road is longer)
Shimano have the RS505 hub, effectively a 135mm centerlock 11 speed version of the current 5800 (105) hub, this is one of the cheapest options out there (it's a nice hub, I have one), Novatec do some, but are more, then you jump to White Industries/Chris King level.
Not really surprising there aren't that many options out there, back in the 90's people built wheels, then came along the Factory Wheels and since then it's not really been cost effective to build anymore vs just buying a complete wheel. Look at Campagnolo, they only have 2 hub options where as 10 years of so ago, they had a hub for every groupset.

He has to buy a cassette anyway, so why not a mountain one? Of course with an 11 speed mountain cassette the gearings would be all wrong and the derailleur would need to be limited to the smaller cogs, but it is just for a trainer.

You get a MTB wheel, cassette and run a Tanpan, but by the time you did that, and got a MTB RD you would also need, you may as well have just bought a high end hub road disc hub, which is not what the OP wanted.

So I find this option on EBAY. Seems like this would work what do you think?

The spacing is different with Dyna-Sys 11 so it won't work.

RoadLink ? wolftoothcomponents.com

but it isn't what the OP would want to do.

Most important things are 700c and 135mm spacing. Mavic Aksium is one of the least expensive road disc wheels out there. Don't bother adding a rotor, just a tube and trainer tire and you're set.

I'd argue that the 135mm thing isn't even a big deal. Use a 130mm wheel with an extra 5mm spacer on the non-drive side. Loosen each drive side spoke nipple 1/2 turn and tighten each NDS spoke the same done to correct the dish. Done.

Have you talked to Cannondale?
If it is a Formula hub, you might talk directly to Formula and see if you can order it. An advantage of going with an identical hub is it should help with derailleur and brake adjustment.
Shimano should have at least a few hubs.
Here's one to consider.

Two options that worked for me.
A 11 speed road cassette will fit on a 10 speed hub with 1 cog/spacer removed.
Another option depending on your derailleur is an 11 speed mountain cassette will fit on a 10 speed. The offset will allow it to fit.
I did both of these when I converted my Fuji Tread over from 10 speed to 11 speed Ultegra Di2 right before I was going on vacation and couldn't get a wheel before I left.

Thanks! yes there is a way to move the spacer from the 11 speed and make it to 10 speed and also I find a set of wheels on eBay i linked in my earlier post a set for Alex build of wheels got good reviews $225 that's not a bad price .
Also I was just thinking to buy a gatorskin tire for the rear and ride it inside and outside as well and see how long is last being used like that.
