Dent in Aluminum Frame

Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

I recently noticed a dent on my newly purchased GT Grade. I have no idea what caused the dent and have never wrecked. I was devastated to find this as I've only had the bike since 08/11. Can this be fixed? Would it be covered under either GT's or Performance Bike's Warranty? Is it safe to ride as is?

You sure it's not supposed to be there - for heel clearance or something? Is there a matching one on the other side?

I've never heard of a warranty that covers damage for something like that... insurance maybe.

Yeah, I feel stupid now. There's definitely a matching one on the other side. I'm not sure how I never noticed that spot before.

Thanks for the quick response.

It looks like a crimp in the chain stay for crank arm clearance.
