How much clearance does the 54 give you? My two Peugeots are a 54 (too small) and a 57 (too big); both the Capo and the Bianchi are 55 (just right). If the 54 fits you well, the 57 will be too big, but if the 54 is a bit small for you, the 57 may be fine, particularly if its too tube is not too long.
To make my PKN-10 comfortable, I had to resort to a very short-reach handlebar stem.

54cm in compact or traditional geometry? Is the 57cm compact or traditional geometry? To give you an idea of who rides a 57cm though, I'm 6'1 with about a 35" actual inseam and am supposed to ride a 57cm ideally.

The bike is has an old school geometry and its c-c size is about 51 cm.
I used to ride a 53 cm (inseam = ~80 cm) road bike and wanted to know if I can ride this bike using a 26 x 1.0'' tyres - This way the bike will probably fit me
What do you say ?
Thanks

My inseam is about 80 cm (Short guy ...)
I just saw an incredible frame that is 14'' (c to c) and top tube of 20.5''
I figured out that my c-c frame should be 15.76'' (80 x 0.65 = 52 - 12 = 40 cm)
Since its a great deal, I would like to know if I can still ride the bike even if its not the optimal size for me
