FSA crankset has clicking noises
Hi,
I have a new FSA carbon pro crankset and it does make (same as the new FSA Energy crankset I had earlier). I bought the bike used with this new crankset though from a guy in our club; he installed the crank and has a good reputation as mechanic. As already mentionned I had the same issues with an FSA Energy (the bike was new then) which was fixed by the dealer. I removed and the installed again the pro carbon crank according the FSA You Tube video and with a torque wrench, but its impossible to get rid of the clicking noises. Also I fix almost all my gear already for a lifetime & never ever had issues with cranks of other brands.
Help would be welcomed.

I assume the video had you greasing the spindle? And you tightened the chainring bolts? and tightened the pedals?
Try installing another set of pedals and see if the sound goes away.
Then try putting some Locktite on the slip in bracket.
I have read that noises like what you have come standard with FSA. But since it's new and you have a warranty I would take it back to the LBS and have them adjust it if the above simple stuff I mentioned fails.

Hi Rekmeyata,
Thaks for your tipps. Yes, I did everything as explained, put the pedals on another crank- no problem with those.
The warranty is a bit of an issue as this bike has been bough of a friend and he didn t use it for long time. Maybe I just put on a Shimano crank which never made trouble. Its the 4th FSA crank which I am unsatisfied & I m a bit tired to be bothered.
Cheers Chris

Are you sure it's the crank?
