adapter fork 1" to ahadset frame

Hi,
My old MTB is equiped with a rockshox mag20 with 1" steerer. The frame is broken (crack in the weld) and i would like to buy a new one. My problem is that it is more aor less impossible to find a frame for 1" steerer. Is it possible to find adapters headsets to mount a 1" steerer fork to a recent frame?

thanks for help!

I know there are adaptors for 1-1/4" frames to use a 1-1/8" steerer tube. There may be something available to 1-1/8" to 1". Any machinist could probably make some inserts for a new frame to reduce the diameter of the headtube.

There are bushings specially made for the job. They reduce a 11/8" HT to accept 1" HS.

Reality check time.

Why in the hell would you want to? The fork is 13 years old and even if you had the rebuild kit you're looking at MAYBE 63mm of travel. Today's frames are designed for 80mm +

Ebay the fork (someone will buy it) and concentrate on joining us in the 21st century.

This 15 years old fork is working good and suits well for i'am doing now with this bike: to go to my office. Sure new forks are better for MTB but for road they are too soft.

I am not going to spend a lot for this bike. It appears to be more complicated to change of frame. I'll re-weld the frame.

First off. http://img203.exs.cx/img203/91/arrow...ywquote6it.jpg
It gives you the nice quote boxes
and if modern forks are too soft for you theres always the rigid option which is far lighter than that old Mag 21
