Source For An Inexpensive 20" Coaster Wheel?
I used to have dozens of these laying around my garage - until I gave them all away to anyone who asked. Now I need one for my own granddaughter's bike.
She won't be on a 20" for more than another season, so I don't want to spend more than about $20. Has anybody found a reputable dealer selling these? |
I find the cheapest source is my nearest Goodwill store. 20 inch bikes are typically $4.99 and you may get other parts you can use on the bike. Roger

Niagaracycle.com is my usual source for items like that but they don't seem to have any coaster brake wheels at that size. A few freewheel options, though, just be sure to pick the correct 20" size. I forget what the two different ISO rims sizes are but tires are not interchangeable between the two.

Abandoned kids bikes are common and generally considered a liability. Post an ad on Craigslist or Kijiji and you will likely have more 20" wheels than you could ever want.

Apparently, the advent of the internet has made shopping impossible.

Our CL is swamped with kid's bikes for $25. I don't know why people bother with posting something on CL for $25. Just give it to Goodwill and be done.

If you strike out with other suggestions, I'm sure we have one at my local bike co-op. PM if you need me to dig one up for you.
