Remote Lockout

So, I have a 2003 Jamis Dakar XLT with an old Fox Float RL coil shock with lockout. However, I'd love to install a remote lockout for climbing. Does anyone know how to make one? Thanks in advance!

You asked before already , and the suggestion of get a hard tail was Suggested, I guess You did not agree.

If it has a removable air-oll-Spring shock. search for a different one with the lock out feature, ( start Your web search .. Now)

Or Have a Dummy shock made that no longer Moves , and bolt it on in place of what You have ..

Read a Blog many years ago , a Guy who worked in a machine shop took a full suspension bike and Made it so It came apart easily ..
with the rear end made rigid, but removable to pack smaller , and Flew to places to Go touring On It.

..,..

There is no 'part that does' here. Unless you want to design and fabricate the pieces you will need to replace the Fox's onboard lever with one that can be activated by cable, you will have to replace the shock with one that comes with a remote. DT Swiss and Manitou MacLeod came up first on my search.

With the Under-the-DT mount on that shock, it shouldnt' be too hard to reach down and flip the lever on the shock body at the base of a climb.

Thanks for the advice! I think I might try to fabricate something out of an old three speed shifter and cable. It would be a lot easier if I could just flip it on the fly.
