Spring return for Campy aero levers?

I scored a pair of Campy aero levers (barke only - not brifters) on e-Bay, but when they arrived, I realized that they don't have a built-in spring return. Since I'm planning on using them with Avid road discs (whose springs are feeble, and whose distances from the levers are LONG), I fear that the levers won't adequately return to their open positons. Is there any way to add a spring return function at the levers, themselves? If not, I'll just run Shimano levers, since they seem to have their own internal springs.

i just got some older campy levers and was a bit puzzled by the same thing. a check with my lbs mechanic confirmed they rely on the spring tension of the calipers.
i got some shimano exage aero levers on ebay for about 18$ brand new and they actually have a nice strong return spring and work great.

My conclusions as well, Surferbruce. I installed the Shimanos last night & the Campys will be on e-Bay this week.
