Maillard 5 speed freewheel replacement?
I've just tried to replace a Maillard Normandy 5 speed freewheel with a Sunrace 5 speed freewheel.
Problem is the following: the sunrace freewheel touches the rear fork (frame) because of its different design.
Should I just add 2 spacers or washers on both side?
Does this put the frame under stress (steel frame)?
Or should I just look for another freewheel (on ebay or so?)
Thank You in advance
Kind regards

A little spreading tension on the rear of a steel frame, should not be an issue,
other than increasing the difficulty of getting the wheel in, due to its added over lock nut width.
You, of course, got a new chain as well?
