what's the max T for Sram XO 2x10

I have a SRAM XO 2x10 38/26t crankset. I'd like to know what's the biggest chainring i can use for both the outter and inner?

I believe the BCD is 104/64. I saw on ebay some have up to 44t + with 104BCD. Bicycle Chainring BCD104 Circle single speed Narrow wide NW teeth 32T 40 50 52T

Is that safe to use?

I'm running a 10sp setup.

Much appreciate your input.

Thanks.

the main issue will be the max tooth range of the front der.... there's only so much room available in that cage, and you may exceed that limit, which will have your chain rubbing the cage at the bottom, eh? You SHOULD be ok, but watch for that interference... IF the front Der. is specific to a 2x10 in that 38/26 relationship, then you may not be able to use that 44 with the 26 small ring.... Your rear cassette will play into it, too, as the rear der. has limits on how wide a tooth count it can handle... the problem with the tooth count issue will happen when you cross-chain your gears(big front, big in back), and the rubbing issue will happen when you cross chain in the opposite direction. SRAM should have tooth count limits listed, as they should for max. difference between front ring sizes... My advice? go with a triple ring crank and der.!

this is the FD i have right now: SRAM XO FD

my RD is a long cage, so i am running a 11/36 right now. i know from SRAM this crankset they had offered it with 42/28t.. which i should've bought to start with, but got a great deal on the 38/26. so i figured instead of 42/28, maybe there's bigger chainring using the same 104/64BCD option.

think about how a FD moves.

IF a particular FD handles 42/28 well; what number of teeth difference does it like?

ok here's another thought. i have 11/36 cassette (10sp) available.. so what do I need to convert this XO into a single chain ring in front? is that even possible?
