Ultegra WH-6800 questions

Hey all - I just picked up an Ultegra WH-6800 wheelset (sorry not enough posts to link)
I intended to mount these on my 2012 Marin San Marino... depending upon the answers to #1 below I may mount on another ride or return them.

1) the Ultegra front hub seals are large and ever so slightly touch the front fork creating drag.

A thin washer on each side of axle remedies the issue - is this an acceptable & safe fix?

2) I plan on running tubes, the rims are tubeless capable - should/must I run cloth rim strips?

Thanks!

2) I think the spokes are designed without spoke holes in the rim. So no rim tape necessary.

1) A bit tougher. I wouldn't let it rub. How well does the wheel with the spacers fit into the fork? Loose? Requiring expanding the fork to fit? How many mm?

I wouldn't let it rub on carbon. If the dropouts are aluminum you might be able to file them slightly without losing structural integrity.

Apparently only one end of the axle comes apart So, on one end, you might be able to add an extra spacer between the end cap and cone. But that won't help you on the other end.

It is probably fine just to use your spacer on the one fixed end of the axle. Keep your quick release tight.

Correct - no spoke holes in the rim.

I will not ride with it rubbing. With the spacers it's an easy fit - a light spread of 1-2 mm at most. I am comfortable with the fit as not too stressful. The spacers do not have "teeth" whereas the outer cone face does so I agree ensuring the QR is tight is critical!

Thanks for the input.
