I solved the problem with a replacement used fork. When I examined the original fork on a flat surface, it appeared that one blade was nearly 5mm forward of the other. Now I can ride no-hands.

Now you can whack the old fork with a rubber mallet for a while, and in the end turn it into a truing stand. |
