Shimano sora brake cable housing

I was replacing the brake cable on my Giant Defy 3 with Shimano Sora 9-speed (1 year old ~2500 km done).
The brake cable cam out easily, but the cable housing attached to the brake levers (/shifter) appears to be stuck and does not come out, for the front and rear.

I don't think that both the cable housing are stuck to the shifters. However, I could not find the any bolt/screw to detach them.
Help appreciated, cause its sunny in the Netherlands, don't how long it may last, so want to fix asap?

Just yank it out, I take it you have removed the bartape and sticky tape, it will be snug in the shifter so a bit of muscle along with wiggling will be required.

i assume you pulled the cables out already? Is this with the over the bar tape sora shifters? Then yes they should just yank out. You have to shift both levers to the lowest gear with the small paddle to get the cables out.

Soaked the cable housing with WD-40 overnight, pulled it out this morning. Guess should work out on arm strength!
