Shimano 11 speed hub compatible with a 10 speed cassette?

Going to build a bike using a wheel with a Shimano 11 speed cassette, and road brake levers that are for 10 speed. One more q, can a 11 speed derailleur be adjusted for a 10 speed cassette?

Thanks in advance, if this is possible to answer.

Found the answer here regarding the cassette: boydcycling.com/11-speed-faq/ and spacer ordered. :-)

Got to order a 10 speed derailleur too I found.

Thanks for the replies!

I hope to be able to fit a Shimano FC-RS500 50/34T crank, with at the rear a Sram 11-32 10-cassette, and a Sram Apex Medium Cage w/Sram chain, as I have ordered the Sram parts.

The wheel is a
Mavic Aksium Disk, which I read should be compatible with a Sram Cassette. There is a Shimano 105 11-32T 11 speed cassette on it now.

Going to use 10 speed Shimano mech road brake levers with TRP HY/RD road hydraulic disc brakes. I don't know what model the levers are.

Got Shimano flat mount hydraulic brakes, but an adapter for a post mount frame > flat mount brake caliper can't be bought, I read.

Thought I could fit the Shimano brakes, so that was no fun to find out I couldn't, as the TRP brakes were costly, as I had to order from Taiwan, and there will be import tax too.

Will be fitted on a Kinesis Crosslight 5T Disc CX, with 140mm at the rear, and 160mm front.

Thank you! Much appreciated, as I was able to cancel the order. So then I'm left with buying a 11-28 cassette and a Shimano RD? I cannot find a Shimano RD for 10 speed for anything higher than 11-28. Got to choose a route that's longer, but not as steep then.

a shimano 5700a or 6700a will fit a 30t officially but will almost certainly fit a 32. I do it all the time. If not you can use a 9 speed non shadow mountain RD like a deore

Thank you! Much appreciated. Will check out the 9 speed option.

Will order the Shimano Deore M591, Shimano Tiagra HG500 11-34T and a chain. :-)

Thanks once again!
