Anyone know what Shimano seatpost this is?
Hello all,
I'm having trouble figuring out what seatpost this is? Yes I know it's Shimano seatpost, but I don't know the model number.

looks identical to my Shimano 600. probably from the late 80's.
OTOH component manufacturers, IME, often labeled the same product with different model names. for instance, my '87ish Stumpjumper hubs are labeled Deore but are identical to my Shimano 600 hubs from the same era.

Yes looks like a 600. Maybe it's been polished, but you could look for "600" on the front, below the small adjusting screw.

Well I was following you guys on this possibly being a 600 till I started looking at the part where it starts to tamper;
The post I have has a definitive crease;

Which leads me to believe this is more like the SP - 7310, which is shown above. Or maybe these both have the same crease?

This is the a Shimano SP-6400-B 600 Ultegra - Aero. The proper way to determine that was finding out the weight and researching it from that angle.
There ended up being a possible 3 different models if you didn't know the weight. Info here

the shimano 600 seatpost that i have has a small 'Shimano 600' just below the adjusting screw. it's labeled vertically. and, i think, could easily be polished off.
