Lacing 32h hub to 36h rim

Is it ok to lace a 32 hole hub to a 36 hole rim by leaving one spoke out of each group at four evenly spaced intervals? How much might it effect truing?
thanks
chris

Has anyone tried this and had it work out? It seems like it wouldn't be a problem. I can't picture why I would need different length spokes - it would just be leaving 4 spoke "gaps" in the normal pattern...

In theory ya it would work...

If you have questions about spoke lenth, I KNOW the formula to calculate thme is posted out there onthe net in a balillion places.

I woudl be milldy concerned about the wheel going off-round at those points, and added tension on the spokes adjacent to the gaps. However, in my hometown, a jackass tore some of the spokes out of my 36 spoke wheels (3) and I spaced the holes out pretty evently, it worked...

I didn't ride very hard in those days, and when I went to college and started going up and down stairs, off porticos, up and down curbs, and generally over anything in my path smaller than an 18 wheeler, I started rotating hte spokes to kep the stress moved around. That bike got stolen pretty quickly anwyay because I did a halfass job of locking it.

Rotating the spokes?
