Shimano hydro 105 lever --> which mtb caliper

I have a set of 5800 levers currently attached to a flat mount caliper. I'd like to switch forks to a post mount and the easiest way is to change calipers. I thought I had read that there was intercompatibility between road/mtb hydro ratios, but wanted to be sure before spending to buy a new caliper. I assume anything that attaches with the same br-h59 will work?

I can't answer this directly, but the only difference between my Ultegra caliper and XT caliper is the bolt that holds the pads in place (one is slotted, one is hex-headed). Shimano warranty-replaced one of my Ultegra calipers with XT and it is otherwise identical (apart from the label).

Generalizing from this one data point, I am going out on a limb and suggesting there is no difference.

1) You can buy post->flat mount adapters, which should be significantly cheaper than a new caliper.

(I'm sure there's better prices, that was the first link).

2) The calipers are essentially compatible, the brake hoses are different (the fittings should be the same). Many people report that using the mountain hoses with road levers results in a more firm braking feel.
