Recently picked up an old team bike (Madone 10 spd) that is fitted with Ultegra throughout. It needs a new crank and cassette. Wanting to pick up a Tiagra 50-34 crank, and put an 11-34 cassette on it in which I will need a new RD as well. Wanting to get the Tiagra mid cage RD for use with that cassette.

Will these new peaces work with the existing Ultegra 10 spd shifters?

Crank set: yes

Cassette: yes

Tiagra 4700 rear derailleur: get a 105.... the tiagra 4700 derailleurs are finicky as hell when coupled with the 4700 brifters, and don't like other brifters one bit... they are said to have the same pull ratio as 5800/6800/9000 series brifters, but are still quite finicky.

get a 105 or better rear der. that is series matched to your brifters or shifters, for best results... the 5800/6800/9000 series may be a bad match, if your shifting is of an older series... Shimano has decided to change PULL RATIOS on the newer pieces.

Bull - Tiagra 4700 RD works perfectly fine with the 4700 levers. The pull ratio is different than older 10-speed though (so it isn't compatible with other 10 speed stuff), but the system itself works great if setup by a competent mechanic.
