DIY 11-30 11sp Shimano cassette
Shimano just came out with Ultegra 8000 and DA 9100 which have a new 11-30 cassette. SRAM already had that size, and campy has 11-29. These cassettes work with regular rear mechs and have nice tight spacing which many like more than the 11-32. In short, a great climbing cassette for guys like me who have gained weight...
I used to ride a 12-30 Ultegra 6700 10 speed cassette with 24-27-30 big cogs, and also have a 105 5800 11-28 cassette, which has the last 3 cogs 23-25-28. The next to last cog on both is a 21.
Swapping the big 3 cogs makes the "10.5 speed" 11-30 cassette. On the stand it shifts perfectly well on a SRAM Rival 22 bike after one turn of the RD barrel adjuster. The Campy SR11 with Chorus RD bike needed a few turns to shift nicely.
Not tested on Shimano 11, YMMV.
