Any unpredictable time in any conditions the drive goes fully high or low with no rider input. Reset sorts it out, sometimes after multiple tries. Its been at the dealers fro weeks now and no fix found.

NuVinci , you put the cables in, and thus adjust it, when it's in the middle ...

sprocket and hubshell rotate at the same rate 1:1

then twisting the grip one way lower, reduction gear ; cog turns faster than the hub-shell & laced to rim, wheel.
the other way , overdrive, the hubshell turns faster than the cog,

Job being not on front of me , I'm working blind..
other than say : if it does not work satisfactorily, replace the hub . internals, they're not user serviceable.

maybe a simpler Shimano 8 speed IGH, rather than the NuVinci , again..
