Ultegra 10s cassette spacer - not included?

For those of you who have purchased an Ultegra 10s 6600 cassette (specifically a 12-27) was there a 1mm spacer included for use between the free hub and the cassette?

I've been frustrated by the fact that on my new bike (built up a LOOK frame myself) that my rear derailleur taps on the wheel spokes when using my 27 cog. It won't do it on a bike stand but when I'm grinding up a hill it will. Looking back at the installation instructions and on Shimanos website, they say that there should be this 1mm spacer for the cassette. 1mm would be all I need to get the derailleur away from my spokes (32 spoke Open Pro rim on Ultegra 6500 hub). There was no spacer included with my cassette though and when I installed it I stupidly assumed it wasn't required since it wasn't there. Luckily I didn't damage anything.
