Non-Drive Side Issue
Hello,
I am noticing my non-drive crank arm will only tighten and not come loose. I currently have my stages PM on. I went to another bicycle to make sure it was not the torque wrench, however, there was no issue. I am guessing it is stripped? It just keeps spinning. The initial tightness is overcome but after that it just spins. Hopefully it is nothing serious. Thank you for your time. It no longer tightens either. |
Full explanations are helpful. I assume you are referring to the pinch bolt(s) spinning, rather than the crank arm, and that when the bolts are loose you still can't remove the arm. Did you release the safety clip? https://support.stagescycling.com/en...truction-video.
Note that it's almost always helpful to go to the source for correct procedures. I'm an old fart that knows nothing about Stages Power Meter cranks, just Googled "remove stages pm" to find the Shimano video guide. |

If you have any of the type that uses a fixing bolt with self extractor cap, (Sram, FSA,etc) the fixing bolt is possibly stripped. You may be able to get it out by removing the self extractor cap. A new fixing bolt and the self extractor cap will remove the crank, or you can use a crank puller. |
