Removing Shimano brake levers

I have shimano 100GS brake levers on my bike I can't work out how to get them off the handle bars. I've tried for ages. There are no accessible screws or bolts or clamp I can see. Attached are some pictures of the brake lever.
I have a grinder in the garage and some spare brake levers and it's not out of the question I could grind them off if I have to but I'd like to avoid that if anyone can help.

Unhook the brake cable.
Pull the lever back as far as possible.
Peek inside.
There’ll be a screw lurking down there.
Loosen screw, slide levers off.
