Shimano Di 8050 Rear Derailleur Capacity

Shimano says the RD-SS 8050 covers cassettes up to 30 teeth and the RD GS 8050 goes to 34 teeth. I have heard one report of the SS model being used with and 11-32 cassette, which I use on my current 6870 group. I found a deal on the SS 8050 and I am wondering if it will in fact accommodate the 11-32. Any one have direct experience with this setup?

There have been posts of success with that combo. The 30t rating is clearly conservative, and historically (for decades)
cyclists have been riding with cassettes larger than the nominal max ratings of the RD. You may have to use a longer
or reversed b screw, but probably not. The GS will go to 36t, and with such as wolf extenders to 40t cassettes.

Another example is SRAM etap successfully used on 36t cassettes, though SRAM website blog says NO, users say
no problem.
