left hand bar end shifter for rear derailleur

I'm converting from STI to a single bar end shifter for my 1x commuter and I'm wondering if the left hand friction shifter has the pull needed to shift my RD. My previous commuter was an 8 speed 1x with a friction shifter and I grew to love it, so I'd like to do the same with my shimano 105 10-speed if possible.
I'm going to order some dura ace 10 speed bar ends so I'll have the option either way, but the way I see it both shifters would have an equal cable pull. Am I mistaking?

AFAIK Lh and Rh bar end levers usually do have the same cable pulls, of the same versions/brands. The SunTour bar Cons I have give about a 15.1mm cable pull amount. What your der and cog set will need I don't know. Andy

Newer Shimano rear 10-speed bar ends do not have a friction option so you will have to use the "front" shifter.

I have a pair of SL-BS79 shifters and. as best I can measure them, both the front and rear shifters have the same diameter cable "drum" and the same travel so they should pull the same amount of cable.

Okay that's good to know, thanks.
