PD-M520 and FD-M520?

I see some used Shimano pedals for sale and add says they are PD-M520 and FD-M520 types.

I have never heard of FD-M520 pedals. I did see a sold ad on eBay for FD-M520 pedals but didn't check it at the time and now can't find it.

Could this be a mistake and both sets would be PD-M520??

Also will PD-M520 pedals fit Shimano road bike cranks?

FD-M520 is an Exage front derailleur, per Shimano tech docs.

Mostly likely a typo and they meant PD-M520.

I googled FD several times and each time got Exage....

I do believe I may have to buy them.

In Shimano's part numbering system, the first two letters indicate the type of part. Pedals will never start with FD, as that's the prefix for a Front Derailleur.

A few examples:

PD = Pedal.
FD = Front Derailleur.
RD = Rear Derailleur.
ST = STI brake/shift lever.
BR = BRake.
FC = Crankset.
BB = Bottom Bracket.
BL = Brake Levers.
WH = Wheel(set).
