Cycle Computer Not working
2 Attachment(s)
Hey all, This is probably a dumb question, but I bought a cateye wireless cycle computer. I believe I installed it correctly, but it isn't working (I rode a mile to test) and I can't figure out why. A couple of pictures of the computer and sensor are attached. Any suggestions are very welcome. TIA.
UPDATE: FINALLY Figured it out. The sensor and magnet were not aligned. Sorry for the wasted bandwidth. |
Could be the battery in the sensor, or you need to get it closer to the magnet.
Make sure the battery in the sensor doesn’t have one of those battery saver stickers still on it. |
Most likely, magnet is either too far from the sensor and/or the magnet is not quite at the right place vertically
with respect to the sensor. Rotate the black sensor toward the spokes so the magnet is within 1/8" of the sensor and if still no pickup try moving the magnet up or down ~1/8-1/4" on the spoke. Make sure battery in sensor is installed correctly. |
Thanks for the quick replies
The sensor was not correctly aligned with the magnet. Also, I moved the sensor to the front of the fork so that if it slipped toward the spokes it would just be bumped back instead of pulled into the spokes. Cheers all. So glad riding weather is back!:innocent:
