Question on SRAM Red Exogram crank and knurled nut

Hi. I'm replacing chainrings on my 2015-ish SRAM Red Exogram 10-speed crank. I removed all of the bolts, including the knurled nut/bolt (the "hidden bolt").

In reading SRAM's instructions, it's saying I need a bench vise (!) to reinstall the knurled nut..??

https://sram-cdn-pull-zone-gsdesign....ser_manual.pdf

I got it out with a 5mm hex...can't I just reinstall with the same?

Thx.
