Where to buy SRAM 1x road groupset?

Does anyone know of a source for groupsets/build kits for sram 1x11 groups? Specifically non-hydraulic kits?

I can't seem to find anyone selling them in the USA. Only retailer I have found with anything in stock is a foreign retailer. They had great prices, but wouldn't ship to USA.
Ebay has a bunch of Apex 1 kits for sale, but limited options (and no mid-cage RD with apex).

I'd be more interested in Rival 1 (or even Force 1) if the price was right...but I can't seem to find anyone actually selling anything other than individual pieces.

The online retailers in the USA are generally not advertising full group set packages. But when I bought a group last year and this year, I was able to source out all the components between two different USA retailers for a price that was comparable to the UK sites.

When you buy from foreign sites, you are assuming the role of importer. Although many of the items you will buy for yourself are exempt from duties and fees, do you know which? And if something gets goofed up and the US Customs sends you a bill, do you know how to respond with the documentation and point out the exact laws that allow you to bring that part in with no tariff, fee or duty?.

Some manufacturers block international sales into protected territory..
this may be the case.

Buy a new bike with the group you want, then decide to ride it and sell yours,
or strip it and sell what's left.

SRAM is definitely in the limited access category, not only blocking international sales into protected territory but enforcing price minimums.
Shimano is less picky about this, hence the groupset pricing from the UK that is sometimes hard to meet in the US. Speedplay, Thompson
and most major complete bike manufacturers (Trek/Specialized/Cannondale etc) have similar attitudes toward either discounting or mail order sales.

I mean, I'm not surprised that they engage in price maintenance across markets--I was just noting that that's the only place I've seen the groups for sale.

I'm more surprised that I can't find anywhere in the US that will even sell me the stuff (even ebay aside form a bunch of Apex groups from Taiwan).

Meanwhile, if I want a 22sp group, I can find a bunch of examples of websites that will sell me a full or partial group, including letting me specify things like crank-length, BB-type, and cassette range (here's just one example)...but nothing for the 1x11 groups.

Maybe just buying some on sale bike and stripping the bits is a good solution...I see a couple of good deals out there, but nothing right now with both the right crankset and the right RD/cassette.

What aren't you able to find at online US retailers? SRAM's website list BackCountry.com, Compeititive Cyclist, Jenson USA, Performance Bicycle and REI as their internet partners for online sales. Other US online retailers and bike shops with a web presence have some SRAM too, but maybe not the latest stuff.

They may not list all the parts together as a groupset, but they do have the individual components. Might have to use more than one though to find it all. Last time I bought from Jensen USA, I had to call them with a question and decided to complete my order on the phone. The rep gave me a better price on the expedited shipping than I would have gotten through the site. However that's definitely a YMMV thing.

Looks like around $460USD for the group from Bike24 (if they would ship to the US)

Brake lever: $45.86 (Amazon)
Shift lever: $104.52 (Amazon)
42T Rival1 Crankset: $132.90 (Niagara Cycle Works, Amazon Marketplace)
Rival 1 long cage RD: $93.85 (365 Cycles, Amazon Marketplace)
XG-1150 cassette: $99.99 (Amazon) -- note, this is an xD Driver-only cassette-- the PG-1130 11-42 is $71 (Amazon)
PC-1130 chain $21 (Bicycle Addiction, Amazon Marketplace)

So that's $479-498 shipped, and without shopping anywhere-- just looking the stuff up on Amazon. Of course, the cassette, chain and crankset can really be whatever you want. If you're buying it for road use, really not a lot of need for a 10-42 cassette. An 11-36 would suit most people well enough with a 42T front, and be around half the price of an XG-1150.

Yeah, it is looking like, as long as I go with the right retailers, I can actually get a good price buying individual components.

I can actually buy all those pieces for about the same price from Glory Cycles (never shopped there before, but it happened to be the first site I tried to piece together a group on) in one stop.

$454 (before tax, but I'm out of state) for all of that, except switching to a type3.0 mid cage RD, and dropping to an 11-32 cassette (might do 11-36...I'm in flat Chicago so I don't feel the need to go 11-42). Could save a few 15 bucks going to the 175 crank from Niagara, but I'm trying to ensure pannier clearance and want to go with 170 (I'm comfortable with the 165 cranks on my current commuter even though I'm 6'2).

Throw in a GXP BB and a brake caliper and I'm good to go.

Your local shop has the answer as always. They can order exactly what you want and make sure it is all going to work together and even help you install it and maintain it. Something Billionaire Jeff Bezos cannot do.

Groupsets are nice if kitted out the way you want, but cassette options can be limiting in many cases. LBS pricing is an obvious sticking point,
the LBS will never have the acquisition cost benefits of a multi-store chain and, as a local dealer once commented, he could sometimes get
a better price on an item just ordering it from (eg Jensen) or other retail source on sale, than he could get from his wholesaler. The one groupset
I got from Probikekit was a 10spd Di2 setup, this was shipped from Holland and packaged in ziplock bags. It was a good deal never the less.
Makes me wonder about warranty, but never a problem and the groupo is still working on my recumbent. Warranty can be a problem with European
sourced items which are not meant for the N American market, but this has been more noted with such as cameras which are a bit more complex.
