New chain for CAAD 9
is there any reason not to get the same chain as OEM for my CAAD 9?
It is a Shimano HG-53 9-speed according to the spec. It's not like I'm looking to drop grams on a 20 lb bicycle.

Getting the OEM version of any part insures intended performance and spec will be maintained. But there are usually many chains which will work so that your budget and self view can both be happy. Andy

I avoid Shimano chains with their (IMO) deficient "special joining pin" concept, rather choosing chains with master links for closing them, like KMC, Wippermann, SRAM, etc. YMMV.

I was looking at KMC or SRAM as alts. Anything I need to know to get either instead of the Shim.?
