quiet freehub DA-9100

hi there.
I just purchased a brand new wheelset (DA 9100 c24)

my freehub is absolutely silent. it only ticks when I'm freewheeling at a very low speed (coming to a stop).

is this normal for this particular hub? ... seems so weird.
I've also never owned a brand-new wheelset before. (so maybe i need to break it in a bit?)

but damn, the 9100 hubs are sooo smooth.

Send it to me and I'll give you one that clicks louder. Even in the same model I imagine that other owners have different perceptions due to the other components of the wheel set. As well, update us in a 1000 miles after the excess lube has been pushed away from the pawls. Without the cushioning of the lube it's bound to get a little louder.

Consider yourself fortunate. I hear some riders a good half-mile away when they coast. The load ratcheting would drive me nuts (or break my habit of coasting). Ride and enjoy the peace.

haha. good to know, nothing's wrong.
I'm used to using my freewheel like a bell (when passing other cyclists) i just coast for a second, on my reynolds hubs (which sound like a damn chainsaw)

I'll just have to get used to being a ninja now.
