Installing Right Hand Seal

Hi,

I'm trying to build my 756A Shimano hub (I don't remember if the freehub is the same for that hub, or another Shimano free hub. I forgot how to reassembler it so I was looking at the manual.
my question is which way do I put the seal?
The silver side facing facing out? The manual looks to say that, but it just doesn't look right and I'm not sure if I'm reading it right.

So, I may have mistaken that piece for another. And that other piece was cracked so I through it away
however, I've been trying fit that seal but it will no go inside and I ended become it a bit. I actually think it was the left hand seal from another wheel.

Can anyone confirm if the left and right hand seal are different sizes?

So anyways since I couldn't get it inside,. I found another piece from some other free hub and it Fits perfectly. I didn't realize how far down it had to go, because I realized, where my original seal I asked in the question, had stopped. I couldn't screw on my cassette because the seat was blocking the threadshttps://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e4f9c900c2.jpg

I just want to know did I do it backward? Seeing that this is a totally new one

The cupped seal goes in with the cup open to the outside, as you show in the photo. Andy

i do recall one side having a different fit than the other side for the seal. I typically label/tag each part as best as I can during disassembly, but sometimes things do get missed.

Metal side in. It helps the balls roll. Cartridge bearings have the metal side in, too.
