If I wanted ideas on how to make my bike "pop", I would have asked so. But instead, I asked a particular question about particular wheels - and you bug me with your nonsense.

However, I now know how you decorate your stem

I might be "dweeb" in "their" eyes. Luckily, I don't care about "their" eyes - only care about mine

So, what's the take away from this thread? The OP absolutely should buy the wheels.

The basalt rim sides are more to improve wet braking from what I remember. I'm in CA though so it's less of an issue here.

I sometimes replace damaged boutique wheel's damaged rims with Chinese hoops, but the OP's wheel choice here is even cheaper than building them myself.

I notice that the Amazon Chinese wheels do not state what the rim inside width is, which is an important consideration when I choose rims or wheels.

The company does ship from a US warehouse, some Amazon affiliate I assume, but this is far from the commitment to legal accountability in the case of injury that suppliers with US corporate offices must assume.
I also assume that product quality control improves with increased commitment to US-based operations, but some China-direct brands (like Light Bicycle) have achieved a solid reputation. Light Bicycle does now has some non-manufacturing US operations, a sign that they are moving upmarket.
